See my slideshow on how to make this movie poster and then scroll down for full instructions on how to make your own!
Step One.
Download a Staircase. If you need these exact stock photos I can email them to you. Or check stockvault.net for lots of freebies.
Step Two. Get a magic carpet or make one using a cool image and warp it with the warp flag tool. Then add bevel and emboss with texture! Then a little drop shadow! That's how I made this one!
Step Three. Get your person of choice to ride the magic carpet! You can use yourself or your pet! (do not use Burt Wonderstone)
Step Four. Place in your purple fire stock photo from (stockvault.net) Turn this layer's blend mode to lighten.
Step Five. Place a piece of artwork on the wall and use the warp tool to make it look cool! This is the squeeze warp setting. I also added a inner shadow to make it look like it was in the wall. I used golden Buddha stock photo. (stockvault.net)
Step Six. Place an owl on the arm for fun! (stockvault.net)
Step Seven. Add a little fire to the persons hand and turn blend mode on this layer down to (lighter color) or (vivid light) to blend. Then place a Polka Dot stock photo over your entire image and turn the layer blend mode to (divide) and turn the opacity down to (43%)
Step Eight. Place a Lion stock photo now. Change the layers blend mode to (Difference) leave opacity on 100%
Step Nine. Place your purple fire in again over the top of the other fire and turn the layer blend mode to (difference) this will give you some green fire too.
Step Ten. Place in a magic stone into your person image and erase all the excess around it. Just leaving a stone in the hand. Add some fun text to your artwork now and use the drop shadows to make it fun. I used a drop shadow and some bevel and emboss shadow. Make it stand out from the art so you can read it. Play with the settings on the shadows until you like it. While you are in your shadow's pallet play with the gradients to add a little two toned affect to the inside of your letters. Also play with your warp tool to get the arched look.
Step Eleven. Add a shine around the stone using white and a brush tool that looks like it would fit around the stone like this below. Place in a magic rabbit and a Treasure Trunk to the bottom of your artwork. I got both of these from Stockvault.net Leave the opacity turned to 100% on the rabbit and turn the blend mode on the trunk to (difference) to make it look old. Remember you may need to erase any of these images that may be too much around what is needed. I added some fun white brushes that look magical under the magic carpet. The are little bubbles. Down load some fun brushes and add some thing under their to show it off!
When you are finished remember to save your original file!!!!! Then flatten it and save it as something else after you add some neat affects to it. I like to have one layer, duplicate it, then play with the layer blend modes to give it a slight more color and more dramatic look like mine at the top of this page.. Then duplicate the layer again and add a cut out filter and then turn the opacity down slightly when finished to make it look a little like a cartoon. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! I have placed a link on the top of this page that will take you directly to the free stock images. Just go to the top click, more, then go down to stockvault and click. For some reason stockvault does not have a search engine for these codes to find the images. Just write them down and do your best looking for them. Make sure when you are there your not in the section for images that charge money. It's a little tricky. Stockvault does not have a search engine so if you are in one it will take you to shutterstock images that cost money. See example below. Use the categories to narrow things down. Such as click on animals to find lion and Owl.
